Manchester United is considering making a higher bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite following an injury setback to new signing Leny Yoro. The Red Devils had previously made an offer for Branthwaite, but Everton rejected their bid of £35m plus £8m. Everton was thought to be asking for around £70m for the 22-year-old, but reports suggest they could be persuaded to sell him for around £50m.
Leny Yoro, who was expected to end United’s pursuit of Branthwaite, suffered a foot injury during a pre-season match with Arsenal. The 18-year-old had to undergo surgery and will be out for three months. While Yoro has started his rehabilitation, Branthwaite is also currently unfit after undergoing minor surgery. Everton manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Branthwaite will be fit for the start of the Premier League season on August 17.
Despite the setbacks, both players are determined to make a strong comeback. Yoro expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and is focused on his recovery. Branthwaite is making good progress in his rehabilitation, and Dyche is optimistic about his chances of being ready for the season opener.
Manchester United fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the club will make a new bid for Branthwaite and if the talented defender will join their ranks. The injury setbacks have added a twist to United’s transfer plans, but they are determined to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
